Specifications

Razer Blade 15 and MacBook Pro 2020 are equipped with the 10th gen Intel processors and both of them feature 16 gigs of DDR4 RAM. The Razer Blade 15 features a blooming 15.6-inch full HD display that offers amazing color accuracy and reasonably good brightness. With a refresh rate of 300hz and backed with RTX 2070, Blade 15 is ideal for competitive gaming and real-time 3D rendering.

The back-lit keyboard has been improved a lot since the last version and the keys combination makes more sense now. I’m really impressed by the sound quality and the speakers are very well placed. They’re not too loud and have a very elegant touch to it to provide an amazing listening experience. Equipped with 512gb SSD, the loading times are now faster than ever.

On the contrary, Apple Macbook also features a 10th gen Intel processor along with 16GB of DDR4 memory. The display is only 13.3-inch which is quite small when compared with other latest laptops in the market but with 500 nits brightness, you cannot ask for anything better than this well-lightened display.

MacBook Pro 2020 is powered by Intel Iris Plus Graphics graphics which offers excellent 3D rendering experience. However, we cannot say the same thing for competitive gaming. You’ll also find a 1TB SSD inside the MacBook Pro and stereo speakers with vibrant sound quality.

Design

The minimalist Razer Blade 15 features a matte-black metal body with a Razer logo on the top lid. Rigid build quality and very elegant back-lit keyboard provide a very nice touch to the overall presentation of the laptop. The spacing between the keys definitely looks a lot better than the previous models and content writers will experience a comfortable typing experience. The bezels around the screen are quite thin which makes the screen look brighter and accurate.

On the other hand, MacBook Pro 2020 features the same design as you might’ve seen in the previous models of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. An elegant design with an Apple logo in the middle of the top lid with white and silver exterior colors. The keyboard and the rest of the design are also quite similar to the previous models. This time around, Apple has made an effort in decreasing the thickness of the laptop as well and this model is now thinner than any previous models. The screen is quite small than your usual MacBook Pros and the bezels around the screen are quite bigger then they should be and it can be a bit annoying.

Display

No matter how good your display is but no one can compete with the display that Apple MacBooks has to offer. This is also the case with MacBook Pro 2020 model as well where you’ll be getting a 13.3’’ IPS display with 2560×1600 native resolution. With over 500 nits brightness and Truetone technology, MacBook Pro is a sight for sore eyes. On the contrary, Razer Blade 15 offers a similar experience but the display is a tad bit larger than the MacBook Pro.

Razer Blade 15 features a 15.6’’ FHD display with a refresh rate of 300hz and the touch screen option is also available with this one. Backed with RTX 2080, you will see some breath-taking scenes on this one, and with RTX on, it’s even better. Moving on, the display that Razer Blade 15 has to offer is quite exceptional but still not as brilliant as MacBook Pro 2020.

Performance

Both, the Razer Blade 15 and MacBook Pro 2020 are one of the fastest workstations that you’ll get your hands on. These laptops were released quite recently and they’re equipped with the latest-gen components. The Razer Blade 15 is specifically designed for competitive gaming while MacBook Pro is more suitable for video editing and software programming.

The Razer Blade 15 features a CPU with 8 cores and 16 threads while MacBook Pro only features 4 cores and 8 threads. Fewer cores mean that Apple MacBook Pro won’t be as good as Razer Blade 15 at multi-tasking but it can give a tough competition when it comes to 3D rendering. MacBook Pro 2020 seems to beat the MacBook Air 2019 model in GeekBech 5 but still falls short of MacBook Pro 2019.

Battery Life

One of the biggest perks of Apple MacBook is that they offer very long battery timings while most of the laptops in the market can barely compete with them. The Apple MacBook Pro 2020 can last for nearly 9.5hrs while streaming videos from Youtube at 1080p.

During normal browsing and stuff, MacBook Pro 2020 will be able to stand its ground for nearly 10 – 12h. On the other hand the Razer Blade 15 battery life is said to last for nearly 20hrs on normal use and somewhere around 10hrs while streaming. Both of these laptops will offer almost the same amount of battery life but under stress, I believe that the combination of Intel 10th Gen and RTX GPU will drain the battery faster.

Graphics and Gaming

As we’ve mentioned before, Razer Blade 15 is specifically designed for gaming where Apple MacBook is more suitable for non-gaming purposes. There’s no comparison between the Razer Blade 15 and MacBook Pro when it comes to graphics and gaming. The Razer Blade 15 features RTX 2080 which is more than enough to play any game on Ultra settings with decent frame rates. While the Apple MacBook Pro can hardly get 100-120fps in CSGO. If you’re looking for a gaming laptop then I’d suggest you not to go anywhere near the MacBook Pro 2020.

Conclusion

Razer Blade vs MacBook Pro 2020: And the winner is…

Both of these laptops are quite different from each other and they target different types of audiences as well. Blade 15 is more suitable for those guys who love playing games but also looking for a workstation while MacBook Pro is strictly for non-gaming people. If you’re looking for a decent gaming laptop that you can also do your office work then I’d definitely suggest the Razer Blade 15. But if you’re looking for more flexibility and faster loading and rendering times then MacBook Pro 2020 is a beast that you should definitely check out!
