First and foremost, I know that this article isn’t going to appeal to all of you.
“Energy” is something that you either believe in or you don’t and if you fall into the secondary category, these suggestions may not make much sense to you.
However, good energy does make a difference in my life. It’s something I’ve found that can help with my mood as well create an overall feeling of well being.
Making it flow through my home can be a challenge though, particularly with so many things going on in this space. Today, I am going to talk about five ways I try to make the energy flow better.
Some flowers are more effective than others
I know some of you will be looking at quick wins, and this first tip is for you. I’ve found that displaying a bouquet of flowers can make a world of difference to my mood. I tend to use them in my bedroom and recently, I’ve been looking at the Avas Flowers Twitter page for inspiration. For those of you who are interested, you can find lots of Avas Flowers products and Avas Flowers deals if you look hard enough.
In terms of specific flowers that help the most, orchids have been a regular favorite. Here is a list of more plants for positive energy.
The standard decluttering advice
Hopefully, you don’t even have to believe about energy to see that decluttering helps. It’s been covered so much really that I don’t need to talk about it anymore.
There are all sorts of tips out there but if I am feeling overwhelmed, a good clear-out is something that can really elevate my mood.
Nowadays, I see uplifting decorations in every store I walk into. It might be a candle with a nice saying on it, or it might be a small photo.
Either way, I make sure every room in my house has at least one of these items. I don’t want too many, but it’s nice being reminded of the inspiring things in life from time to time.
Essential oils can work a charm
Another simple trick is using essential oils. They are relatively inexpensive to buy, and you can tailor them based on your preferences.
I’ve found that lavender has the most soothing benefits for me – but there are so many alternatives that I wouldn’t limit your essential oil experimentation to just lavender.
My most drastic action: Changing my kitchen
I’ve left the biggest change until the very end, as I know a lot of you will be reluctant to do this.
I read somewhere that having the sink and cooker opposite each other was a definite no-no. Basically this was due to “fire” and “water” clashing, a kind of feng shui war of colliding energies. Apparently this clash could cause arguments in the home.
After a tricky few months in our home, I decided to give it a try. Now, I can’t run this as a scientific experiment, but after putting the fridge on a completely different wall I can definitely say it has made quite a difference in the good energy I feel.
If you have built-in appliances this might be difficult, but for anyone who has a freestanding fridge it may be worth the effort.
